WILDLIFE FILES MARCH 11TH 2010 Paxton Pits Nature Reserve

WILDLIFE FILES MARCH 11TH 2010 Paxton Pits Nature Reserve

Before we headed off to the reserve, I manage to film a glimpse of Two Goldfinches on the feeder in my garden, whoohoo I love them to bits.

Then we see the Water level at the lake has dropped again,. I really dont understand why this has happened. It is a lot of water to have gone.

Then we see the BLue Tits featjering their new home, a nest box. This will probably be the last time I film therm there, as I really do not like to disturb them.

finally, a Dunnock singing away. I recorded him for over 15 minutes, but only sharing with you a minute or so.

Happy birthday steph from princess

Lots of these beautiful Great Tits here at reserve today as always. I still think they are cute and very colorful entertaining birds.

Big puddle

Cool

A wonderful Grey Heron high up in the tree ;)

I am not sure if this will look very good, but anyway, here is the water level indicator and it is looking awesome. Was not so long ago, that the level was less than 0.5 on this indicator. I feel so much better, when it is at this height, even more will be great. Especially for the Diving ducks. Though for the Wigeons and others that do not dive, it will not be very good for them. A lot of the time, when the water is this deep, we can see Gadwall ducks, foredging around Coots, and enjoying some plant that the coots bring to the surface. Also, around Swans, who get the plant fairly easily, with their long necks.
Good morning everyone. It took me over an hour to do the school run this morning due to road closures because of flooding. I then actually made it to the reserve. Here we can see a little puddle in the road in Little Paxton itself.
